    That’s not what Newt said, He said he wanted to help them by giving them the experience of working and getting paid.Same damm thing my dad did for me. Nothing wrong with working,no matter what the job. Some Children might enjoy the experience and it would be voluntary. I know I jumped at the chance to work once I turned 14 and could get a work permit. Why do you Libs always twist things?oh,yea Keep em Poor and stupid so they do what you say and vote the way you want.No need to show them the way out of Poverty!

    It is fine if you work for your parents that care for you. But having children work for the cold corporations that only care about dollars is another thing.Why do you right wing idiots not see reality.

    Yeah, kids working with cleaning chemicals and floor buffers. And putting adult janitors out of work so you can replace them with kids who get paid peanuts. Sounds like the typical brilliant Gingrich idea.

    I’d sooner see an improved ROP program or something along those lines.

    Kids already have a job. It’s called “going to school.”

    @et all

    i worked in public schools for more than twenty two years, and i have something to share

    The poor kids when asked or directed to do it, were more willing to work (Sweep, pick up trash, wipe spills.etc.) and will do it in a more polite way that say, “Rich kids” and, rich kids would often say to me, “You clean that up after all that’s your job, to clean up after me” trust me the willingness for learning is more ingrained in the poorer classes than in others and yes politeness is not learned is a cultural trait in the humble and kind children of the minorities that so many “I am better than thou” despise
