Louie: I love the chicken stuffed in the cheese…
…tucked in the steak bits inside the hamburger.
PTOO!!
CC: I don't know how we're going to get him to swallow that pill, Charley.
Louie: Try adding a layer of bacon.
Every single dog that I’ve ever owned has had that special talent of isolating the pill from the rest of the treat! One even refused the delicious treat and would open his mouth waiting for me to put the pill down his throat, preferring his treat afterwards. Whatever works……
Nope, that never worked with my dogs. They’d eat an entire bowl of food and leave the pill on the bottom of the bowl, or eat everything that was wrapped around the pill, just like Louie, and spit the pill out.
pre-sliced cheese wrapped around the pill works on my dog – 1 piece to “prime the pump”, 1 piece with the actual pill in it, and a third to make sure everything goes down.
And cream cheese guaranteed the cat would take his pills. Now I can’t open a cream cheese container without him running over with the cutest little mews to beg for some.
Oh my reminds me so much of my Pooh when she was alive! She was an Alpha female and I can’t tell you how many times she spit pills out at me!
Loved the Christmas spirit around here. Hope each and every one of you have a wonderful 2012 blessed with good health and much happiness. Now that I have recovered my password and user name, I’ll be around alot more often. Just LOVE this strip! The meeses not so much but the rest oh yeah!

Who are they kidding…..no real lab savors food that long……it’s no sooner in the mouth than down down the throat.

Try as you might, the only thing that works is open their mouth, shove in the pill and hold their mouth shut until they swallow.
Good Morning Crew!

Cheez Whiz or cheese-in-a-can works, too. However, Scout will take a pill as long as there’s food with it.
