As kids, me and Tink used to played a game called “Zip Code”. That’s where you and your female partner take an envelope, put it behind your backs, and then lean over to kiss each other. With us, it didn’t very long. Tink often giggles after every kiss!
OOOPS. our mail around 7 or 8 at night. It takes me forever now to get my BIRD TALK or any other magazine I get. I can’t get out of our box, because no one will walk that short distance. I’d do it, bit my legs are swollen so bad I can’t walk right now
3/4 of the mail I get winds up in the circular file. Most of the remainder is bills. But yet I don’t want to go direct deposit on the accounts. Been too many cases of people dying alone, and nobody becoming concerned until the bank account runs dry! I wonder – with social security coming in, it might be a long time before the account runs completely dry.
Would SS then try to recoup the money sent to those on direct deposit as SS is supposed to stop at time of death?
About 2 months ago the last postal offices were closed in the Netherlands. All we have left are “in house-s” (eg check-out at the supermarkets) and guess what: the rates are going up!!
Such a pity. They’re being killed by UPS and FedEx, yet they offer better prices (often MUCH MUCH better) and comparable service. And $0.44 is a pittance for taking an item from my front porch, schlepping it across the country, and in 2 to 3 days putting it in a front porch mailbox 3000 miles away. You won’t find a better bargain than that (well, aside from instantly sending something electronically anywhere in the world).
That reminds me. I picked up my Christmas cards today. Went pricey, got the hand crafted ones. Very well done. Now to buy the stamps. And try to remember to mail before the 19th!
I don’t understand why they don’t make the stamps a more sustainable price. 44 cents is way too cheap, seriously, for the expectations. Japan postage is 80 yen (a little over a dollar) and Japan is a small country. FedEx and UPS charge a lot for a letter, so the USPS could bump up their prices quite a bit and still be cheaper. The flat rate boxes are great.

When I was a kid and tried playing “Post Office”, I always ended up in the dead-letter department.

I’ve sold my stamps to a collector and will be better off without the junk mail. The P.O. delivery system gets me p.o’d!

I got sick of the taste of glue anyway. Wonder what they really made that crap from? It might have been toxic.

Incidentally, if you are not receiving enough mail (or phone calls) send a small donation to RNC.
