But, after getting caught with a wad of counterfeit money. I’,m pretty sure one of the conditions for her release. Was to tell them who gave her that money. The Secret Service and the FBI will be looking for them as "persons of interest’ regarding that funny money!
Scancerelli must have been reading the GoComics’ posters to end this arc the way he wrapped everything up so tidily in just one strip. It still doesn’t resolve that “cousin” Chubby owes the Clovia and Slim $285.
Well, the strip needed to clear the board to start a new storyline leading to a very big anniversary. On Feb. 14, 1921, Skeezix was left on Walt’s doorstep. Feb. 14th always has been observed as Skeezix’s birthday, which will make him 90 years old!
OldManMountain is probably right about the Birthday story arc, but it’s still funny how we’ve been wanting the story to move faster, then it ends with a wham-bam-thanky-mam!
That was a quick tidy wrap-up. I wonder if Chipper and Stubbs are still living down in that basement apartment they moved into back in the summer of 1970? That would be an interesting story arc to pursue next.
As in the previous story about Chubby, we never get to find out about who the thieves are. and, in this story, I guess we never will find out about Chubby’s alias and if he really is related to Slim.
i am not one to complain, honestly. there is NO way i could do what you do. ether art or creative story telling. i did however find the end of this “arc” to be a bit abrupt. i hope you did not let some complaints from others to influence you to cut it short. i was enjoying what i saw as an old fashioned screwball comedy. Mr.Scancarelli, for what little its worth, you have my vote of confidence. keep telling fun stories.…everyone else, please forgive me my bit of soapbox preaching. i saw to much negativity in the last couple of weeks, and it it has kinda pushed my buttons. “if you don’t have something nice to say…”
I actually hope Scancarelli never looks at these comments, or if he does, that he ignores them. As fans of his work, just like fans of a ball club, we are allowed to complain and whine about everything we wish. It’s fun to do so, and it’s clear we all read and care about this strip. But just like you’d hate a ball club to pay attention to his fans, I hope he does as well. :)

There’s no grace period on liability insurance, but hey, this is the comics, anything is possible.

We should see if we can guess a panel 4 for this strip: My guess:
Slim: “Does this mean you’ll do the laundry now?” – no comment saying he is happy she is back from jail – nothing else.

Translation: Scancarell stopped short of throwing in the kitchen sink, got bored with their predicament and hastily wrote them out of it.
