Flo: So do you have any travel plans fah the holidays, Eddie? Captain Eddie: Well... no... nothin' planned. Flo: Ah, so yaw're sitckin' around? Captain Eddie: I didn't say that...
@thebird55Not really. Some moonshines can be 199 proof. We’re talking the really cheap stuff that’s just sugar water and yeast fermented. The kind of stuff that will kill you with one shot (no pun intended).
Very nice work. Dogsniffmas. There are a few guys in our area that do chainsaw carvings, mostly bears, eagles and such. Firewood is more my speed. Too bad about the bum ticker. I have one, too, but won’t let it stop me from making hay. Keep up with the carvings and the comments, love ’em both. (By the way, I suppose you would have to beg everyone to flag your pic just to get that deleted!)
As long as we are inventing new drinks; may I offer this one for consideration: A Boot Rear = a shot of “Capt Morgan” spiced rum + a shot of Southern Comfort + a can of A&W. A real kick in the pants. Love the work Dogsniffmas
Here’s mine – the Irish Lassi:In an 8 ounce glass, pour 3 parts pre-mixed mango lassi drink and one part Bailey’s Irish Cream. Stir well and chill. Serves one admirably.
That’s right, @SomebodyShort; 190 Proof = 95% Ethanol. Anything above that is scavenged for the remaining water, using either lye (potassium hydroxide) or benzene (both poisonous). See Everclear (190 Proof), still available in about half the states in the US. My Corpsman friend HM2 Harold Michener in DaNang had some slightly sadistic bunkies who tried to ambush me with a slug of Everclear, but I saw it coming and took a few deep breaths first. Burned all the way down, and my eyes watered, but I didn’t pass out from oxygen deprivation like they hoped. I just squeaked out a macho “Ssssmoooth!” and held out the cup. (They declined a second try.) Another friend, Cpl. Lee Reisenweber down at 1st-MAW MARS, had a favorite drink he called a Frock; half vodka, half water, with ice. On the phone-patch operating table, it just looked like water, but Lee could carry a load that would floor the un-practiced. And @Dogsniffmas; gorgeous work, but the jewelry store (Googled ‘tikijoe animal carvings’) doesn’t seem to have a link, wha’sup?

In Cap’n Eddie’s defense, I’d say he’s just one of those people things happen to.Strange things, to be sure, but…

I’d love to be the Cap’n’s travel agent. Think of the commissions…

Golden Grain and Everclear are 190 proof. Which is really just about as pure as you can get.

Does Cap’n Eddie get frequent flyer miles?

He didn’t say that either, Flo. He just doesn’t know where he’ll end up.

The journeys he takes in his mind are just spectacular…but unexpected.

The layout of the diner Flo is in is very strange. Looking at the first and last panel, one has to wonder where exactly Flo is standing.

Nicely done. You’re an artist as well as a clever punster. :D
