While Carmen worked late in her stuffy cocina. Papi was shopping at la Tienda de Tina buying some milk and a little cerveza for Santa to find on the dining room mesa.
“Cocina,” “Tienda,” “Cerveza,” and “Mesa.” If only high school Spanish was taught this way, kids would learn to actually speak Spanish rather than just memorize conjugations.
Destiny23, it’s not- it’s all Spanish. I was confused about the point of the strip, which is why I came here. They have this problem a lot. And in this case, you can’t mix the languages without re-writing the English words to get a new rhyme.

I wonder if the Spanish version is sprinkled with English words, since apparently the only point to this one is to be bilingual.

If a cartoonist troubles you with content, perhaps you should select something better suited to your needs. Why agonize over trifles?
