Even after nearly 90 years, you can just feel the embarrassment from every child in that party picture. :) And you have to feel for (presumably) the mother who obviously put a lot of effort into making those hats. I suspect the birthday child was the one on the far left, who looks doubly embarrassed at his hat and on behalf of his friends. The facial expressions are just priceless on the kids, each unique. I think my favorite is “Huck Finn”, who looks like she’s plotting her revenge and it will be served very cold.
