@John Justig – Did you see the loose translation in the German site today? The English version says, “Santa’s new slogan? Don’t ask, we’ll tell.” – “Have a fabulous Christmas!” Then the German translation has, “Du weisst nicht, was du deiner Ilona schenken sollst? Jedenfalls kein parfuem.” – “Und schampus kriegt sie schon von mir.” My translation of the German is “You don’t know what you should give your Ilona? In any case, no perfume!” – “And she gets bubbly from me!” Gotta love those Germans!
@davidf42 I didn’t know exactly what those brainy Germans were going to do with that comic, but I was told ahead of time that was going to be something different. Which is fine with me. After all, some things don’t translate. And references to the U.S. military’s now defunct “Don’t ask. Don’t tell.” policy is certainly one of them.
