I’m sorry I know Annie is smart, I know she’s brilliant, but whenever I see children saying something like that I just think, “That’s so sad.”

But what Annie just said, essentially, is that the Santa they are going to see is really an ad. I think a kid who can see that has the opportunity to see the world as it is, including some genuinely untainted beautiful things.

Do either of you know it’s just a cartoon, and Annie isn’t really a smart, brilliant child?

c’mon people – what Annie stated is BRILLIANT (thank you Forgetta and Rose) It’s a perfect way to explain why there’s a gazillion different “Santa Claus”s at every store, at different locations, etc etc. All those Santas are “Brand Ambassadors”. Like Ronald Mcdonald, McDuff the crime dog…And the original Santa HAS become a Mythological Personality – Great way to look at the Santa Claus story.

I prefer to think of Santa the way my Mom explained it to me a long time ago… Santa represents all that’s good in the world at this time of year. He represents, happiness, joy, the spririt of giving…
