What was in Agnes’ Christmas package at the motel; where did they get the money to pay for the room and the truck repair; how did it get fixed so fast, or at all?
Yeah yeah, it’s “just” a comic strip…. but it was such a good story!
Ah, Tony, I believe we ALL would like some answers to Susan’s questions. Your story was too good to end where it did; let’s have some flashbacks, perhaps Agnes filling in Trout on the rest of it. C’mon now…
At least Agnes will have a good Christmas story for school. And we got the pleasure of reading this marvelous story arc, unanswered though some questions about it may be. .
Grandma will be paying for the truck repair until maybe August. And then maybe another unwanted root canal will intervene. Life on the edge will go unpredictably onward.
Merry Christmas and thanks for the kind comments, everyone.Sorry I can’t answer those questions;-)However, the chicken was extra crispy, the present came from The Dollar Store, and the truck is being towed to a shop at home that Grandma trusts.Payments until August sounds about right……AND the desk clerk forgot to cash the post dated check. Miracles indeed!
Since the industrialization of animal farming, the standards on what is considered to be any kind of meat have been lowered. You are what what you eat eats – if the meat comes from an animal that has lived its life in confinement, been fed an unnatural diet, and has been given a steady diet of hormones and chemicals, then eating it is hazardous to your health. Know your food sources, and if you can’t afford meat that has been raised in a healthy, sustainable, environment- and animal-friendly way, then don’t eat meat.

And BTW there’s only so much I’ll adjust my definition of “ham”…
But with today’s prices, I have lowered my expectations for “steak”.
Cross rib, anyone?

Yeah, it was the beginning of a great story. And may have ramifications yet. And maybe we’ll find out what ‘ham’ is now.
Merry and bright holidaze, everybody. Hope you’re all feeling as good as I do right now, maybe without the gentle wooziness…all’s well.
