P. Spaetzle: Tell me your secret. Did you follow a weight-loss program? Man: First I followed it to the corner. Then to the town line. Then to the motor city 5k finish line. and so on. P. Spaetzle: When I follow mine, mostly it wants to go to the refrigerator. Man: you do have to steer it some

Another really good exercise is pushaways. Like, from the table. The best program out there is the ELFS diet. Eat less food, stupid. Love the way he successfully shed the pounds, I’ll bet he’s a rôle model for lots of folks.

@ the old wolf:
The best diet I followed for the last year was “Eat real food. Mostly vegetables. Not too much”. My weight gradually declined 30#s. After the recent holidays, waited one extra week before checking this year and only gained back 2#s. Now I’m starting my weight lifting again and as soon as warmer weather arrives cycling again.

My best weight-loss tip? MOVE more. I was only 10 pds overweight, took a part-time job in a fabric store. Now I’m on my feet 4-5 hours most days, walking, carrying bolts of fabric: I’ve lost those 10 pounds and feel better than I have in years.

I sit around and read, so you might say I’ve got a Kurt Vonnegut…

Guys…just keep doing it, but be gentle, some. Me? farm boy, rode horses and cows and fell off…football, worked some pretty strenuous jobs, ;lots of judo and other martial arts, all the exercise needed to keep it up for THOSE…green beret…now I hurt a LOT. Recent two years have been searches for “What CAN I do?”
Finally have decided that I will hurt no matter WHAT I do, so I’m back with some simple e-z gung fu and walking…go on, laugh…I’m just glad I CAN do something. Let’s see if I can get to a 5k…a couple of miles regularly would be great…hope my spine stays with me and the arthritis…or whatever it is…that I get so I can bear it…
Be gentle unto thyself, brethren and sistern, yea verily. Make it last…

My Dad was a drill instructor in the Army in the 40s, he had a hip problem and the Dr told him, he could go home and sit on the couch and the pain would slowly go away, or he could get up and move, always be in some pain, and that is what he chose to do. He made it to 83. The true answer is to MOVE. Pilates is the best CORE focused exercise out there in today’s “market” Moving and walking are cheap and all you have to do is to Start!!! BTW….. Love Frazz!
