The Democrats gave the GOP everything they asked for — no tax on high incomes, no cut to the employer side, even that stupid XL Pipeline boondoggle — and then the GOP said it’s all unacceptable. There’s nothing left to talk about. The GOP has been hell on my pocketbook for ten years now, and the rich haven’t had to give up one measly dime.
The reublican plan to tank the ecconomy just to get Obama out of office is backfiring…BADLY. thats why congress has a record low approval rating, and the presidents rating is (slowly) rising
The Democrats original deal was to give a small, temporary payroll tax cut that robs the social security fund in exchange for a permanent tax increase on any person or business making over a million dollars. Of course the Republicans scoffed at that trade. Businesses and the affluent already pay way more taxes percentage wise and dollar wise. Businesses are so over-taxed in the U.S. that they’re sending all of their jobs to Mexico and China! Why would we want to kill more domestic jobs by taxing job creators while simultaneously defunding the already insolvent social security fund?
Put all the Republicans in deep water to tread, die, or take a lifeline offered by the Democrats. As the Republicans will refuse to take the lifeline, no matter how good an idea, they will all drown, and problem solved.
Please, the original senate bill called for a one year extension, but the G-NO-P would have none of it because of the costs (for the first time admiting taxcuts cost money). Their (republican) plan was to cut jobless benifits, the dem plan was a slight surcharge on millionaires (gasp). This is the compromiseThe house wants the year long extension to be payed by higher income medicare recipiants (but for the love of GOD, don’t go near job creators who don’t create jobs).

Republocrats and Demlicans. Two sides of the same coin. No matter who’s in power, the same things happen.

Please! Like both sides are equally responsible for this mess. Even the GOP Senators are shaking their heads and fists at the idiot GOP House.
