Is Janis revealing something about herself? Gene seems to think so. Maybe that’s why she has become sympatico with Mary Lou.

Less talk, more malk.

i thinks Janis just wanted as much info as possible about the woman who is taking her baby boy. Gene is between a rock and a hard spot cause he may want to talk with his mom but he doesn’t want to betray what Mary Lou has shared with him without her consent. it is also true in past strips Arlo and Janis haven’t always been happy with Gene’s choice in a mate. i think here she is just reflecting on the "luck"that Gene didn’t get a girl in the family way when he was younger. Gene has always been a bit of a player with an eye on the ladies. the fact that her son has remained steady in his feelings for Mary Lou and her child despite being on a campus with loads of single unattached young women speaks loads about Gene.

Janis, like most of us, is just acknowledging that she didn’t always use good judgment in her youth and was fortunate, like most of us, not to pay a dear price for bad decisions.

Um…who wrote the “About Arlo & Janis” to the right. Because like…wow…just wow…

I wonder whatever happened to Mary Lou’s older sister and souse mother

When I first read the above I was thinking Janis might have been talking about herself but after consideration I was wondering if she might have stayed on the subject of Mary Lou. Gene’s thoughts about what Janis said and his next statement should be just a tad interesting.
