Nothing fruity about an onion. If he’s confused, it’s probably only cos he has no eyes and he’s dressed in so many layers.

On the other hand, a lot of what we call culinary vegetables, like peas, peppers, beans and corn, are botanically fruits…..

But luckily nobody cares except their mothers.

BTW – yesterday I answered a question from Dogsniff that had gone missing, and also sent an e-mail to a curmudgeon (if the shoe fits….)

@DogsniffSomething is strange here. Your comments aren’t showing up any where. I’ve even tried different browsers, nothing. Not here or at Andy Capp.

Yes, it is Friday the 13th@SusanSunshineIt appears that, for some reason, dogsniffs account has been blocked. This means not only can he not comment but all of his prior comments have been removed. In his last message to you he said:“@SusanSunshine: Don’t scare me like that! Both of our comments are there. I now have one of those doodads hanging on my wall that says IT HAS BEEN — DAYS SINCE I GOT DELETED. I’m up to 26!”

I would think a tomato would face more of a conundrum.Although a tomato might be looking helplessly at doors labeled “tomato” and “tomahto”

Intelligence is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.Wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad.

Dogsniff and the guy from Tulsa , banished from gocomics, find themselves at the Gitmo of comics’ sites, the Daily Ink, where there is much weeping and gnashing of teeth

Since onions are classed as root vegetables, it seems we have a rather dim bulb here.

Aha! Dogsniff‘s predicament explains, at least in part, why the post count doesn’t match what you see. Also he’s commenting, it’s just that no one can see them. If you click x-Tech’s link to his profile up there, there are comments only a few hours old (mostly 7 as I type this).

Root vegetables indeed! Onion roots are quite small, despite their use in histology classes. What we eat as onion are really leaves (they have no stems).

    Thanks X_Tech —

I had a suspicion of that, cos I knew when it happened to a couple of other people.

One still doesn’t know, which in his case is a good thing, and the other is a friend, who didn’t know till I told him.

That’s cos they’re very clever, in a diabolical way……you can still see your own comments in the forums, but no one else can, so you think they’re all crazy.

Thanks for the phone number, Fleur.

Dogsniff will be able to see it here, if he comes back to read these comments.

The fact that he can still read and post in the forums…. but is only visible on his profile…. means he isn’t totally banned, just maybe under control, as far as GoComics is concerned.

Hang on Dogsniff! We’ll try to spring ya.

Beviek — thanks, and you’re welcome, I guess!

I didn’t know the man from Tulsa either, depending on what his user name was.

There are a lot of people who seem to have dropped out, or been deleted.

And some who never came over from Comics.com, or are using new names I don’t recognise…

    Just a small quick sampling…

What happpened tp ProudArianne? Ravonlea? Where are LifeStudent, Welshman, Kirkmouse and Addadadaaddad?

Fes2 who I think won the Brevity contest in 2010?

My friend Kev_A_Swing_Dancer only shows up now and then, so I hope he’s still here.

Fleur — The person I know who is in the same limbo as Dogsniff can still log in and see his profile.

He can also still “see” all his old comments in the forums, even though I can’t —

but I can see his last 10, if I go to his profile page via bookmark.

It’s been that way almost since the move from Comics.com, so perhaps 8 months.

Maybe this is a coloring error and it’s supposed to be a red tomato.
