Thanks, goldenroya. I wrote my “essay” yesterday in response to your Thursday posting, because I thought yours was some of the best-written tongue-in-cheek humor that I had ever read. I wasn’t surprised when some people accidentally took yours literally, because it was very subtle. But I was surprised when a couple of people took mine literally yesterday, since I was trying very hard to use absurd allegory that I thought would be totally transparent.
@Tog,What is the motto of the state of California?I think you “have found it!” , although Archimedes’ “Eureka!” was a bit more expressive. Calvin’s expression is significantly subdued, so maybe he’s having a senior moment and forgot where he is going! :o)With Calvin’s extensive vocabulary, onomatopoeia is a word he might know.
I can’t wait until the day we retire and can move to a place that gets little — or preferably NO — snow in the wintertime. That would absolutely heavenly for me!

Calvin has just had a eureka moment. Onomatopoeia.

@TogThanks for the new word – naming something by the sound it makes, eh? And some people think there’s nothing educational about the comics.

It’s always fun when the snow is higher than your boots.

@walruscarver2000: Hatching insidious plots? How did you ever find out that we had buried sea turtle eggs in the cemetery?

I wondered why they were called galoshes. Makes me question why I spent all that money on college when the answers are right here : )
