They do their job. They lay around looking as if they are not aware or doing anything but then, let an intruder appear and watch the hackels rise. They remind me of security guards who appear to be just standing around but are actually “on the job”.
Granted, not ALL dogs, but a whole lot of them take this guarding very seriously.
