Satchel: Ooo, it's 4 o'clock, my favorite show is on! Bucky: Oh yeah? Hey! Satchel: Why did you do that?! Bucky: Your favorite show is on. We're celebrating. Satchel: By breaking glass?! And for my favorite TV show? I got voted playgroup dog of the week, you don't see me breaking stuff! Bucky: Ooo, go get a drink, we'll celebrate that. Satchel: No, no, it's... It's really more of a rotating thing...

For those of you wondering what the joke was yesterday – some places throw drinking glasses (after you drain the drink) into the fireplace. If you don’t have a fireplace, throwing them at people you don’t like is a very common substitute.

When did househole pets obtain opposable thumbs? I tried to teach my cat to fetch me a beer but he could seem to get a handle on it. Claimed it was his lack of opposable thumbs.

I was in that playgroup and I got rudely rotated. You’d think a dog would love a dog. Well, oops, not always.

Picky, picky.

I’ve stopped reading “Get Fuzzy” because it’s gotten so 100% inANE, but accidentally read it today (in the paper). I notice it doesn’t have many commenters left. Getting down there with Sylvia, which I do read, because sometimes it’s pretty good. She garners one or two comments on a good day.

I love those people so happy to have gotten the joke that they explain it to you. Always fun.

I bet Satchel’s favorite show is Top Gear.

Sure cats have thumbs — so do dogs. Their front paws are an analog to the human hand: four “fingers” and a “thumb” just forward of the “wrist”. Their digits don’t have the length and flexibility of ours, but that’s the only difference..Comparative anatomy of all mammals, and a lot of other vertebrates, shows a pretty similar broad pattern, and some of them have fairly well functional “hands”.

Actually I was quite amazed at how well my dog used her front paws as hands.

I’m still amused.

Of the 38 comics I read today, 18 (and counting) is actually above average.

You don’t need opposable thumbs to break a glass.

I apparently DO NOT have opposable thumbs when holding anything breakable. .On the other paw, I have seen cats open doors, fridges and cupboards. And take whatever it was they were seeking..Rotating dogs? Sounds like the best dog is picked by how well he winds up when he lies down.
