It appears that the frogs accumulate alkaloids from a variety of insects ranging from mites to centipedes. “Evolution of Dietary Specialization and Chemical Defense in Poison Frogs (Dendrobatidate): A Comparative Analysis”. The American Natural 165: 56-69.

Apropos the Human Taxidermy: seems like this guy wasn’t satsfied with blow-up dolls, tho he really stuffed up gettin’ caught like that — he’s not so much ‘bats in the attic’ as he is ‘corpses in the cellar’!

Apropos the books: that’s what you call heavy reading!

Apropos the poison dart frog: so does it shoot non-poisonous darts if it doesn’t eat these specific insects then? Wouldn’t describe it as “entirely harmless” if so!

Check out this link for some hilarious comments when a Ripley’s researcher asked for info on Human Taxidermy:http://www.taxidermy.net/forums/IndustryArticles/00/j/00AF081B9C.html

Steven King should hear about those corpse dolls. They’d inspire him to write a new novel.

What kind of cheap material was that building made from that those books damaged it? I know it was 30 tons but wow! those were probably some great books.

The weight of those books is enough to make even a Poison Dart Frog croak!

It was built to take it. I read a long time ago about a library that was slowly sinking into the ground… the architect had allowed for the weight of the building, but had forgotten to add in the weight of the books.

I found an article about Shaunna Raycraft and she “adopted” the books from a couple where the husband was a book collector. He died and his wife threatened to “burn the books” so Shaunna saved them. Shaunna kept the books in a small house on her property. Here is the link to the article: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/story/2011/06/06/sk-book-collection.html
