After the March 2011 tsunami crippled the nuclear power plant at Fukushima, Japan, hundreds of retired workers volunteered to help- even in areas contaminated by radiation! Marion and Paul Caruso of Tunkhannock, PA, USA, didn't have their wedding photos printed until 45 years after their wedding! A cleaning woman for Ostwall Museum in Dortmund, Germany, miss took a sculpture for a mess and rubbed the art clean of paint! It was insured for $1.1 million.

The Dortmund museum needs to implement a policy of only employing people who are not stupid.

What kind of film is that? I’ll have a dozen rolls. And why does any insurance company take on a mess with so much at stake?

It was probably a ‘work of art’ dedicated to vandalism. Poor lady was just being diligent.

Back in the dark ages when I was in graduate school, we had devices in X-ray crystallography that recorded tons of data on hundreds of feet of ticker tape, all in one continuous strip. In one project lasting for several days the tape was piling on the floor, so the professor picked it up and used a standard trash pail to collect it as it was being generated. The next day all the data was gone because the cleaning person had disposed of it.

She was doing the art world a favor. Most ‘modern art’ is what would make my 4-year-old niece ashamed to display in the bathroom!!
