Unless it’s a hurricane. Then the Way seems to be to buy bottled water, board up the windows, and refuse to evacuate, preferring to “ride out the storm.”
Every snowstorm seems to be that way. This last one (4-9 inches, depending on where in the country you were) would have in earlier times elicited a yawn. Yet I saw numerous news stories referring to it as “dangerous.” Now there is no smowstorm that is not “dangerous” is some way. But even our relatively unaccustomed crews here did not even bother venturing out. Traffic slowed some (and I’m sure there were probably a few accidents, hence the “dangerous”) but life went on.

Don’t forget to buy a dozen rolls of toilet paper, Agnes, and you might as well pick up more movies than you can watch in a month, while you’re at it.

Better run out for that bread, milk and toilet paper before the stores run out! Hurry Agnes!

No, no. Remember 9/11? Use duct tape to drape plastic sheeting over every interior doorway. How soon we forget.
