I especially love Hobbes’ expression in panel 5 (or is it “frame” 5 in the case of this animation), particularly compared to the last panel. This is a brilliant piece of cartooning! Four dimensions mapped into two! A roomfull of mathematicians couldn’t do it half as well and could never do it to be comprehensible to the average person (much less a 6-year-old kid)
Love that, number 6!I remember one day in elementary the substitute teacher sat us down and showed us how to make our own flip-books. It was raining hard, no recess outdoors, but we were fascinated for a good hour with our projects. Even my terrible pencildrawing looked pretty cool when we flipped through the book. Everybody wanted to see everybody else’s neat ideas. That was one sub who didn’t have any trouble!

Just like when Charlie Brown gets hit by a baseball, the shoes have to go flying off!

True, true, Hobbes! Poor Calvin!

You’re right, Calvin. The night of Obama’s re-election was an eternity.

If time did move so slowly, you’d think Calvin would be able to get out of harm’s way.

They should make a separate comic strip about what is really happening.

The last 4 years have moved at a near stand still. The next 4 will probably move backwards.

I so never get tired of these. Thanks Number Six – loved seeing it in animation.

I always read this one twice- once slowly (Calvin’s perspective) and once fast (Hobbes’ perspective)

When I fall in front of other people, I go in slow motion. When I fall alone, I just die about eight times and then get up.

I love the strips where Hobbes pounces on Calvin!

True. The weekend is over in 2 seconds while the week takes 2 years.
