I had windows like that in a mobile home I used to own way back in the 1980’s. It was a cold winter and the windows were shut but wind canme through anyway.
As a kid, my bed was against the wall, under the window. In the winter, I slept in the couch because I could literally feel the wind on my backside. No covers thick enough to keep out that cold.
Our first house when I was a kid didn’t exactly have insulation. I got used to fannel sheets, quilts and hot water bottles in the winter. And scraping the ice off the inside of my bedroom windows. .Probably explains why I like an open window at night.

In the house where we lived when we were first married, even with strom windows the curtains swayed in a strong wind.
