Putty Puss fired the gun with his right hand but on the ground it’s next to his left. I guess we’re to assume he let go of it as he fell and it ended up next to his left hand?
The colorist’s mistake not-with-standing, the second panel is a great portrait of Lizz. Good job Joe and Shelley!!! You’ve managed to incorporate Gould’s quirky way of rendering eyes and still depict a lovely young woman … no easy task.-Seems Cueball’s right arm was severed at the shoulder … to my eye, that’s the only way his arm could be in that position.
Jim,Re your post on the Hat Museum in the Collin’s Era. Your recall on this item is better than mine. The occasion with Deputy Chief Climer appeared on (S) - 10-17-82 and can be found in Spec’s - Dick Tracy Magazine # 70.
Not sure what you mean by suggesting “several” occasions in the Fletcher / Collins years. More that two ? Oddly, I didn’t even remember the one above. SEVERAL may be an exageration !
Wow, a great strip for a Monday. Only complaints, and we’re beating a dead horse here, are with the GoComics coloring. Although I do find it amusing thinking of Lizz changing clothes (and, apparently, colored contact lens) during an operation. Also, Joe & Mike, I doubt that the MCS will allow that package from Cue Ball to be delivered. Looks like you guys will need a new source for your habit.

What’s up with the psychodelic gun smoke?
No need to worry about calling him Putty Puss anymore….

Someday the colorist will get Lizz’s eye color right. Her eyes are green. (sigh)

Two men down (or, one man down, twice, if you want to go with Lizz’s call of “both Cueballs”)! And the band played on….

Gee, do you think they need any more guns? I hear there’s an arsenal just down the street….

You know, at this rate, Joe and Mike are going to rub out Tracy’s entire Rogues Gallery in a year.

Not if you consider the question of a cello case full of white powder.

Besides, don’t most SAs run smokeless ammo these last few decades?
