The Brits and Scots allow dogs in their pubs. That’s where I got my dog fix when we were in Scotland this summer.

Its up to the landlord whether dogs are allowed inside a pub or not. Generally, in the sort of places where people walk dogs, they’ll be allowed into some of the rooms. And they are always allowed in the beer garden – we’ve had a few springlike days recently when that might have been OK [well, OK for an appropriately clad Brit anyway ;-)]
Much the same rules apply to children.
