In the last panel, the foxes are obviously relieved that the dogs have been distracted.÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷Ever see the Abbott and Costello film In Society? There’s a hilarious fox hunt scene.

When furriers make coats out of cat fur, they call it “genet”.

A true lady wouldn’t want a fur coat because of all the cruelty involved with the industry. A cotton coat can be lovely!

Looks like the caged “faux foxes” got released by the dogs. And, Charlie, while I can’t afford a fur coat, I see nothing wrong with them. I have been to a “coat farm” and the animals are raised in roomy cages, with plenty of food and water. If they were cruelly treated, the pelts wouldn’t be good enough for use. They are humanely euthanized before they are skinned. I did not see any cruelty involved in the process anywhere. If you assume that it’s cruel to raise them just for the fur, then you are anthropomorphizing the animals. They are well-fed, content and comfortable during their lifetimes, which is more than I can say for me!

It’s okay to use cows for leather because they are ugly. Wearing the skin of a fox is wrong because they are cute.

Our county once had a $2 bounty on foxes – back in the 50s, I was doing a repair on a fence, and looked down the fence row and saw two dollars trotting toward me. So, I lifted up the hammer, squatted and froze, waiting for him to come by. As he got closer, I could see he was just trotting along, clean, and without a care in the world. Then I got to thinking – do I really need $2 that badly?
