G’Morning, Anniephans! My favorites are Annie and Alley Oop. I mean the classic Alley Oop, not the farce that’s running these days using Alley Oop’s name.
For a while Jim Scancarelli’s Gasoline Alley seemed to be the remaining link to the days of The Little King, Katzenjammer Kids, Smokey Stover and the other residents of the days when the sunday paper had two giant sections of color comics.
The Annie reboot-rerun and the current team handling Tracy are among my top reads each morning (with side trips to Dogpatch and others).
To me, Cul De Sac, Lio and Red & Rover are among the best of the newcomers and heirs apparent to the vacancy left by Calvin and Hobbes.

From what I remember about Tom Short many years ago, Annie knew him quite well.

Looks like a perfect match if she’s interested.
