Not all people Claire’s parents’ age wouldn’t have heard of Craigslist. It’s been around a few years and it’s been in the news, so wouldn’t they have heard of it even if they didn’t use it? I’m assuming they’re baby boomers. Do they live in a vacuum or were they on another planet a few years?
I’ll be 55 this year and in 2006 I found my current job on Craigslist. My boss is a couple years older than me and advertises job openings on Craigslist.
If they don’t know what Craigslist is, how do they know what an iPad is? After all they came out several years after Craigslist started.

I think they just want Claire to be careful on websites…and not get taken as they hear of all the time.
