Stationed in Florida back in 1965, I jump-started a VW Beetle owned by a couple of girls using my ’56 Chevy. The Beetle was 6v, and the Chev was 12v. Man, did that VW engine spin over! They prolly coulda driven from Jacksonville to Miami on the battery alone.

Bottom line is it’s time you bought a new one.

That old car is worth about 10 times more than when it was new.

Does he have used pacemakers because his second job is a coroner (human, not only automotive)?

I guessing that if the EMP burst is strong enough to fry a coil and condenser, there will be a lot more things to worry about then those two items.

“IN” a pacemaker, not ON a pacemaker. Remind me not to let him handle my medical equipment.

The battery is the most unreliable thing about that car! I’ve replaced more batteries in my 1958 Plymouth over its lifetime than anything else!
