The Pakistanis are very passionate about cricket. Well, they like it a lot, anyway. I’m not sure you can be passionate about cricket.

Like a baseball, a cricket ball gets scuffed and soiled pretty quickly during use. Unlike a baseball, however, it isn’t replaced with a fresh one as needed. So the bowlers (pitchers) can make use of the irregular surfaces to put wicked actions on the ball, as the game progresses.

Even if a cricket ball is lost during play, it must be replaced with an old one in a similar state of wear and tear.

    It’s an odd game.

I’ve read a number of British books, and apparently it is possible to be passionate about cricket.
