still wonder how a entire group of people celebrate a holiday that was created in a very small portion of east africa. then everyone who lives in the us of a unknowingly are happy to enjoy it just because it came from the african background they want to relate to
I’m sorry I don’t do political bleeep for to me you are eaither an African or an American not African-American, Irish-American or any other Nationality so if I wanted to be political correct I would be Italian-British-???-???-???-American.
The question marks are for any other Nationality I may have that I don’t know of.
The polite thing to do when someone gives a gift in the spirit of whatever holiday they celebrate is to say “We celebrate [this holiday] not [that holiday] but we thank you for your well wishes and your gift.” (I have some friends who celebrate Hanukkah, and some who celebrate Kwanzaa, I celebrate Christmas, we all just share gifts and well wishes in the spirit of the season.)
