Gil is in super-counselor mode. He’s wearing a cheap suit and a skinny 60’s tie. He has to learn to wipe off the smile, and look empathetic to get Parker to talk.
@miffedmax; It’s not superglue. A little soap and water will free the fingers up. Thor P spent some time this morning with Coach Sandusky and some of the boys.
I’m not sure I am grasping the logic here. Gil wants a heart to heart with Parker regarding troubles at home right after he had a great game? I’m not a psychiatrist, but I would guess that Parker is riding high now… being the star of the last game… whooping up the crowd. Would it not be best to approach him after a bad game, when he is a bit down? Would he not be more open to discussion at that point?
@cuttersjock — He really is looking like Dr. Stone, and Mimi could easy morph into Donna, the way they’ve been drawing her. The Thorp kids are probably the ages of Jeff and Mary by now, too.
I understand things are a bit rough at home. By the way, is she seeing anyone since the divorce? Maybe she’d like to have some, er, “coffee” with Mimi and me?

Not really, Mrs. Worth, but thanks.

No wonder Parker looks worried. Coach Kaz’s exact words were “Coach Thorp wants to see you. And bring your playbook.”

Look, son, I like your “M” and all, but unless you’re planning to attend a COLLEGE that starts with M …..

“Coach, I can’t seem to get this premature gray out of my hair. What do you use, Grecian or Just for Men?”

“Everything’s fine, Coach Thorp. Coach Sandusky said I could spend the weekend at his house.”

Don’t tell me Gil’s gone and superglued his fingers together again!

That’s some deep stuff, Uncle Kaz. You sound like the little Asian fella on Law and Order.

..that’s BD Wong, tedy!
I am consistently amazed at the high level of comments here.
And, by the way, Gil is looking mor and more like Dr. Alex Stone on the old Donna Reed Show!!chiphilton over 12 years ago

Really? You think you can ask him if there’s trouble at home and he’s just going to spill his guts to you? Has Gil ever talked to a teenager before?

zipperg: that was just evil.
I mean I laughed, but it was evil.
