Blissful Sunday morning everyone. Did the police capture/kill the persons in the getaway car? The PC had better get the right size boots this time or there will be another pair left at the next crime scene. Have a prosperous day my friends.

FAMOUS COSTUMED CRIMEFIGHTERS SCHOOLBoca Raton, FLLesson #31: When the Heat is OnAs previously stated, playing both sides of the law can be an effective crime fighting tool. Sooner or later, however, things reach the point where BOTH sides come looking for you.It is doubtful this will happen in the depicted case, as those directly connected with the illegal activity the aspiring crusader is battling have panicked and attempted to flee, thus drawing some of the attention away from the crusader. (For all his mistakes, it must be admitted that “Captain Snafu” has experienced an unusual run of good luck, although how much of that can be traced to the fact that he has unwittingly taken on the lead character in this comic strip as a partner is hard to say.) Once they are caught (or killed), their masters will likely lay low until the case grows cold and they can resume their illegal activities, although some may be curious as to who killed the first pair.Captain Snafu’s more immediate problem is that the local police may be hot on his trail. This could have been avoided by (obviously) taking our course and learning from those who have come before him, but setting that aside, he could have:1. Taken care to get the right sized boots for his partner in the first place,2. Taken care to clean up as much as possible what will now be viewed as a crime scene; picking up shell casings, his partner’s ill-fitting boots, etc. While he is careful to wear gloves and not leave fingerprints, the boots left behind will surely have his partner’s prints and possible DNA,3. Make some secret arrangements with a member of the local constabulary/police, letting them in on his presence and mission and diverting any investigation away from him. (See “Secret Identity Known,” B. Reid, Class of ’36)Since Captain Snafu has done none of these things, it is perhaps best that he, too, just lay low for awhile until the “heat” dies down, and let his partner wear her regular footwear. Police can also pick up the tread of the sneakers, as well, but the crusader and his partner are not going to be doing anything for awhile…
