When that moment comes, how the aspiring hero handles the situation will go a long way toward establishing future relations with the authorities.In the case of Captain Snafu (above), he could have avoided this kind of confrontation by simply laying low for a few weeks or (if going to town was absolutely necessary) avoiding his usual “haunts” – like the store where he buys his “inspirational literature.” Now, however, he is being pursued by the police. The fact that he is unarmed is irrelevant, as it is NEVER a good idea to go shooting at the people you believe that you’re trying to assist. Not just because they, too, have weapons and can fire back, but for the fact that it puts them in a bad mood; police have a hard enough job as it is.The best that Captain Snafu can hope for (under the circumstances) is that he is better at evasive maneuvers than the Chief of Police is, and can simply “lose” the squad car. Not to mention that the logo he so foolishly is wearing is not seen. Of course, it would have been better for this kind of action (not to mention more concealing) if he and his sidekick were wearing crash helmets. Hospital emergency room personnel have a name for this kind of rider – organ donor…
Tomorrow (Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I love ya, Tomorrow) will be the official start of the Annie-Honeymoon bullying story in the Dick Tracy strip! With some assistance, I think, from the Cardinal! Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I love ya, Tomorrow! You’re only a daaaaaaay a-waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy!!
