    Morning, Anniephans!

When they catch Captain Snafu, if nothing else, he will be arrested for child endangerment. And rightly so!

And we have a new development in the Little Orphan Annie saga in today’s Dick Tracy strip, too!

Here’s the link to the 2006 Annie story, “What Bugs You.”

Blissful Father’s Day. God Bless Our Fathers, Past and Present-———This is not exactly the way I predicted that Annie might get her memory back. Will she know who she is? Will she remember the Phantom Commando? Maybe Monday we will know.-———My left eye vision is tge same as yesterday.-———Be happy and healthy my friends.

FAMOUS COSTUMED CRIMEFIGHTERS SCHOOLBoca Raton, FLLesson #40: The Beginning of the EndThe case of Captain Snafu (above) is a sad one, but useful in learning what NOT to do as a crime fighter. Someone trained in our methods at the FCCS would have already known the terrain of the local roadways and to adapt his or her vehicle to handle “pursuit mode” – either in chasing villains or being chased by the authorities – to avoid such a breakdown as depicted (not to mention reinforcing the connections of sidecar to motorcycle). He and his sidekick would also made it a point to wear helmets. That being said, it is possible that, just as his murder of two suspected “spies” actually seemed to do everyone a favor, this accident may be the incident that restores his sidekick’s memory and facilitates her return to those who love her. If it weren’t for the fact that two people – that we know of – have been deprived of life without due process of law, perhaps “Captain Serendipity” might have been a better handle for our aspiring crusader.Notwithstanding, this is surely the beginning of the end for our depicted case. Having caused two deaths earlier and, now, the injury of a minor by evading a police officer in the lawful course of his duties, there is a word for his career now as a crime fighter… toast. Assuming he evades capture, he might be foolish to attempt to recover his sidekick. His secret identity is already at risk, but random chance may once again operate in his favor by restoring her memory and blanking out her time spent with the Phantom Commando. Recover of the girl – with her memory fully restored – would further compromise his identity. The worst case scenario is that he will feel he has no choice but to join the “other side” and await a recruiter from Sam’s School for Supervillains (assuming they actually WANT him after all this). The best he can hope for is that the government of the U.S. or Canada (or both) might have been watching and offer him a “black ops” job to continue his crusade. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it HAS happened before (refer to S.Beamish/Mister Terrific, Class of ’67).

@TXPAScot: I believe that you have covered all the possibilities for ‘Captain Snafu’. I believe his career is ended also. Be well my friend
