Actually that woman isn’t soldering OR welding. As it says on the blackboard over her shoulder she’s cutting.

I’m a little late, but she’s using a cutting torch, or sometimes called an acetylene torch.

Tee – you’ve done that road paint thing before too but that didn’t stop you from posting it again (if you can’t tell my feelings are hurt. Good thing my momma still loves me). RBT

Today’s “Typical Gocomics Reader” made me check to see if my webcam had been hacked. That dang goat is always after my breakfast wooden-o’s.

BTW – Thanks for turning me on to Harold Gilman. WOW!!! Difficult to believe that painting was done in 1916.

Well, do be careful, dear, when you get up. And I’m trying to figure out whether that’s Roddy McDowell from “Planet of the Apes” in the wonderful robe on the Blog. That movie was released on today’s date, Feb 8, in 1968.

Re Blog & Magnetism, et al.: reminds of when I was young and my dad constructed an electromagnet from the power source of my electric train set. Unlike Ray C, it did not lead to a calling in electrical engineering.

I’m wondering if Harold Gilman’s style might have been influenced by the paintings of Walter Sickert. -Sickert, of course, is now considered by many to have been Jack the Ripper.
