Last time I checked Sidney Poitier is a person of color. He received an Oscar for Best actor in a Leading Role for his performance in Lilies of the Field.

One of the big tragedies is that the movie Porgie and Bess that was filmed in 1959 is not available. The cast included Sidney Poitier, Sammy Davis jr, Dorothy Dandridge, Pearl Bailey among other great African American performers. This film won many awards.
