Knute’s going to start following Gunther and Rosa around with a boombox playing “Kiss De Girl” from The Little Mermaid.

Disappointing. All that adventure and danger, and no kiss. The big build up and then back to square one. Rosa will also be disappointed and frustrated, and may decide to just move on.

Is this why they call it teen angst?

Greg just couldn’t bear to split his designated couple up and pair them off with Aaron Hill clones, so he gave himself an out. At least Greg has already established where Quill and Rosa are going to be exiled.

Oh, the Gunther thing isn’t over yet? You know what? I’ve changed my mind. I want this Gunther centric storyline to continue from here on until the end of time. Come on Evans! I know you can do it!

SIGH… This strip is lulling me to sleep.

Well. Luann is back – the Luann fans must be glad to see her. Me – I wanna the Eiffel-TJ arc. There are some unresolved things to be yet addressed…

Gunther has been in love with LuAnn since they were 13. How could he all of a sudden be stuck on another girl? He is really just settling for Rosa, because it’s safe; he knows Rosa LIKES him. In the end, LuAnn will realize Gunther is the right guy for her, and they will get married and have kids.

I do love the way that Evans makes the speech balloons a little “edgy” when the characters a feeling a bit “edgy” themselves—e.g. “Perfect!”

Yup, someday LuAnn and Gunther are going to be taking that long walk down the church aisle with each other. They’re a perfect fit. They just don’t know it yet.

Safely just pals, Luann and Gunther can speak freely to each other. It’s only around Quill and Rosa, respectively, that they become tongue-tied bundles of nerves bathed in flop-sweat.

What a pair of idiots! They have the perfect person for each of them right in their hands, and they are going to lose them because the idea of romance frightens them. Each time Rosa and Gunther have a chance, Gunther becomes a babbling dope, and when Quill and Luann have an opportunity, Luann says “We’re just pals.” When I was their age romance was the second thing on my mind. What romance leads to was the first. The Luanniverse must be a low-T zone.

Please feel free to stop reading this strip at any time (and complaining about it). This is also directed to all the others who seem to read the strip just so they can carp and complain. Please stop reading it, now!

Ok. Quill and Rosa, each of you set the proper person down, tell them they are acting childish and that it’s rude to you. You will not tolerate such disrespect. This should wake them up, make them feel a little guilty, and create in them the need to take the initiative. And yeah, Mr. Evans, I love the edginess of the balloons too.

All the Filipinos that I know, and have worked with, are high achievers with a great work ethic, and as Ottodesu says, the women are hot. Spent some of my USAF days in the Philippines and have a Filipino Godchild. A little surprise from an emergency delivery at our dispensary. Bottom line: Rosa admires Gunther’s intellectual potential, but she will become a mature woman who will need a mature, take charge man that she can also respect.

This angst thing with Rosa and Gunther / Steve Urkel jr. is getting old…more Brad & Toni….PLEASE !

I stopped reading the strip for a few years and only recently started reading again. A lot has changed, but my main question is, whatever became of Aaron Hill?

the “um um mm” is their own fault……. Gunther thinks “I am not worthy of having someone like Rosa”…………… Luann is scared of “getting hurt when the other goes away” ……………………. Rosa has been patient, she sees Gunther as the “cute little bird that needs to get out of his egg shell”, but she might get tired of seeing the pigeon staying in the egg for more than 2 months instead of just 17 days…………………… Quill has been very considerate of Luann, I think he is ready to be her BF, but is willing to wait for her to decide to be his GF, but if he waits too long, and does not take direct action, he might find himself having to go back down under…………………. stop that both of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! come on Gunther, both you and Rosa are good for each other! Luann, don’t worry about him maybe going back to Australia, plus if he does, you can still talk in the web!

It seem’s that neither of them have ever expressed their feelings concerning their “significant other” to anybody other than each other. The hard part is over. The other person already wants only them. Each of them needs to critique the way the other is handling their relationship. Perhaps they can see a way past the roadblocks each is putting in their own way.
