Well Lads and Lassies—This strip dates before the end of WW2 when we still used leaky fountain pens and the banks still had the old straight pens that you dipped in the inkwell. I bought my very first ball point pen at my Navy PX at the end of the war. It failed miserably!
Every few weeks I get the urge to do some serious writing and I grab my fountain pen and bottle of ink and have a ball. Can’t beat a nice good fitting pen.
I love writing with a fountain pen…that’s what we used back in elementary school…at least through the 4th grade. Today it’s about impossible to find ink…even the stationary stores don’t have it.
