Tom should be okay, unless Mrs. B uses the Jedi Mind Trick Adopt an Idea as Your Own. Then he may accept any lame idea that Lefty throws at him.

Tom, it has come to my attention that you are suffering undue concern over everhaving another idea. Listen to me. son. I have found it is perfectly acceptable – in some cases highly preferable — to never have an idea of your own. This state of nonachievement can be attained with the proper balance of chemical assistance. Rest on your laurels, son, and know that nothing you decide to do in this case will offend me or your father. I can’t speak for Ms. B.

Like breaths, each person has only so many ideas allotted to their lifetime. When you’ve run through them, that it. That’s why I’ve been careful to have as few as possible, insuring that I will always have some left. They’ll be demented, crazy old man ideas by the end, but ideas nevertheless.

Really like it how a few strands of Tom’s hair escape the top frame of the cartoon. By federal law, Van Amerongen should not be allowed to retire “except at such time that he can find an equally warped and talented cartoonist to replace him.”

Wow, that’s for the welcome back wishes yesterday. I had no idea. ..On the list of things I expected, that was right after the Spanish Inquisition. Which of course nobody expectsAt least Tom helps balance out those other Ballard Streeters who have too many ideas.
