Red, Rover needs out. Will you take him for a walk, please?! But it's pouring! Now, what would you say if I told you you couldn't use the bathroom until it stopped raining? I'd tell you to fix the hole in the roof.
I don’t think he was being sassy. His father asked him a question and Red just responded with a clever comeback. Red is really a nice little kid with the ability to have conversations with his dog. I love this comic strip.
Red, go get the umbrella, get your raincoat, and get your little rump out the door with Rover on his leash and take care of business. Star Trek or The Monkees or Dark Shadows will be on the T.V. when you get back. (Those were the shows I remember watching in the 60’s).BTW: R.I.P. DAVY JONES OF THE MONKEES,

THAT was a brilliant response from an 8 year old!

It may be pouring outside, but Rover will be pouring inside if Red doesn’t get on the ball!

Get your raincoat on and get out there, Red.

I really don’t remember Red’s age being mentioned recently, but the Info blob on the right says “Follow the adventures of 10-year-old Red.”

If Red is in a bad mood, it most likely has something to do with his big brother, Martin.

Probably The Brady Bunch is on, and they didn’t have DVRs back then.
