While this didn’t happen when I was in school, if it had, my mother would be letting the principal know in no uncertain terms what she’d think of them and their stupid inspections. And I would probably have done the same if this happened to my kids. And if they didn’t stop I would be seeing them in court.
Again, this is NOT a federal mandate. It is a LOCAL school district decision. Or even just the principal’s decision. You know how to fix that in a democracy? Vote out the school board. But if you blame the wrong people, you can’t vote for the right people.
If “fascist” means a nationalistic totalitarian dictatorship, then no. If it means a socialist system in which the governent manages a supposedly private economy by decree rather than outright nationalization, then we’re almost there.
I remember when people where called enemies of the state for not wearing flag pins and complaining about going to war with a country that was not threat to us in any way. This is not fascism and has nothing to do with the federal government. If it truly happened it is a local government issue.
The Federal Government is behind this whether you leftist want to admit it, or not. The local school was probably worried about losing funding. That Federal money is a big carrot/stick.
The state’s Department of Health and Human Services requires that all lunches served to pre-kindergarten students — whether from school or home — meet USDA meal guidelines of one serving each of meat, milk and grain, and two servings of fruit or vegetables. It says the state’s Dept of Health and Human Resources, not the federal governments. I am not a Republican or a Democrat I just get tired of things get blown out of proportion and then people suggesting that the end of America is here. If you would like a one party system move to China or the Middle East, Africa or South America somewhere. We live in a country with two parties neither of which seem to be showing much sense these days, but both have their good and bad points. Even if you don’t like any government we can’t do without them. The state and local governments have more affect on you and you on them. vote
This has EVERYTHING to do with the federal government. Where do you think the local school boards get most of their funding and grants from? Why do you think No Child Left Behind is still around when teachers hate it? Better check again, folks. He who has the purse-strings pulls the puppet-strings as well. WAKE UP AMERICA. Before it’s too late.
Federal contribution to elementary and “secondary education is about 10.8 percent, which includes funds not only from the Department of Education (ED) but also from other Federal agencies, such as the Department of Health and Human Services’ Head Start program and the Department of Agriculture’s School Lunch program.” This hardly qualifies as most of their funding. The rest comes from state and local funds as well as private funds.
The National School Lunch program was originally designed to help reduce farm surplus. That is why lunches were full of butter and potatoes and corn products.
