@FUNG1 I agree. This may be why the strip was retired. It is better to end a work when the author feels like he has exhausted its possibilities instead of continuing until it becomes predictable and “old”.
I would like to go against the grain ~ I enjoyed the Elderberries and I think until now I was only familiar with Mr Pandolph’s rendition. He stayed true to the art, and I grew to love these old folks.
True, strips age ~ some more gracefully than others.
I still have a problem with not putting the creators first. This is what we are viewing today. After following the trials of Nigel Shiftright for years, when the two started Elderberries, it became a must read. It lost the emotions, and terrific art work, after the strip was pasted on.

I am loving the early Elderberries.
I give them four thumbs up, which is one more than I actually have.

Thank goodness we still have these to enjoy. Watch out Professor. Another one of the Laws of the Range … Brand all strays.

I think these are much more entertaining than the “NEW” strip! Where did you lose the “FUN”?

Amendment to “Law of the Range” says, only brand strays if they are not already branded. If already branded, return said stray to owner.
