Hmm, not so sure I empathize with Ludmilla any more.

Ludmilla sounds too much like Chekov of Star Trek fame. He was forever bragging about the "Little old lady from Leningrad inventing this or that”. Maybe they are related?

or maybe Chekov inspired the Elderberry crew to be that way. With the sigh and dreamy eyed look, it looks like Ludmilla misses Mother Russia.at the risk of being anti patriotic , i must say that people who migrate to a different culture for whatever reason can still maintain an allegiance and a wistful longing for what they were born into. She , like most people remembering the past, only remember the good stuff, like carrying Lenin’s battery.talk about the good old days!

I know that ethnic generalizations are politically incorrect, however, the Russian generalization is an intense love of “The Mother Country” and paranoia over loss. The Soviet Union played on this fear to annex the surrounding countries as a buffer against the rest of the world. Then sucked them dry to make up for the economic failures of Communisim
