For me, it’s the thankless part of the job that’s tiring. A little encouragement now and then goes a long way.

It’s a cartoon for heavens’ sake. I don’t understand people who dislike imaginary folks so vehemently for how the artist makes them. Don’t know any mom who doesn’t need a little down time now and again.

I told my wife that having kids would affect her life a whole lot more than mine. Now, I love my kids, and grandkids, but if she wanted to complain about them, I just reminded her of that little talk.

I recalled that Lynn Johnston’s ex-husband was a dentist. Sources backed this up. (As I recall, he fell for his assistant, but I didn’t search long enough to find this.) For an article on the breakup and Lynn’s subsequent life, see http://www.thepeterboroughexaminer.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1208108&archive=true

I thought the parents tell the kids what to do. Not the kids yelling the parents what to do. What a weird house…

I was a stay at home Mommy and loved it. There were problems: a problem son, kids illnesses, homework and school issues, financial problems. But it all worked out. Our kids now have great careers and our daughter gave us our first grandson. My cup runneth over!

Ellie is running a tight ship. It’s good that some moms stay home to raise their family. Why have kids and let someone else raise them? That has never made sense to me.
