The best car in the comics for only fifty cents? How many million dollar gags have come from that jalopy?

Would that have been the Pennsyvania turnpike, ? Seems like that was the one you heard about back in the ’50’s that took tolls.

That is a $15 toll each way. Time to park, and hitch a ride over bridge. The Jersey Turnpike put new-hire non-union collectors in some booths and brought in hundreds of dollars more than the adjacent booths.

Some bridges are free one way, but double cost the other. That way, need only one person in toll booth. An Example is Ft. Madison, Ia. (But you also have the choice of Burlington or Keokuk free bridges.)

I-passes are great for everyday users, but there will still be problems with out-of-town visitors. Plus, if you use the passes, you get an entry in a computer as to your whereabouts and time. This came up in a court case one time.

Question is how does Mutt fit in that car. His legs must be in the engine section, which would mean it was empty. In which case what propels the car.
