There are those who swear by the calculations, but has anyone actually figured out how to build one?
Years ago I read a scifi story (sorry I can’t give credit) set on Mars in which terrorists blow up the anchor to the Martian space elevator. It took days to fall, wrapping around the planet more than once, destroying everything for miles around the equator. I’ll wait for the next one, thank you.
I’m all for scientific advancement but, couldn’t we build 50 new space shuttles or end hunger in our country for what that would cost. I kind of hope that one stays a theory.
