Norman: Did you play baseball in school, dad?
Ralph: I sure did! Son! I was considered a "five-tool" player!
Norman: Really??
Ralph: Absolutely... I had a hammer toe, a wrench in my back, an iron glove, a hangnail, and a screwball swing!
“5-tool” player, for stat nerds like me, refers to a player’s proficiency at: hitting for power, hitting for average, fielding, throwing, and speed. It’s often used as an assessment for college players and for progression through the minors systems.
OK.. Hammer and wrench I can call tools, An iron might meet the criteria, but nails and screws are NOT tools! They are expendable materials. Fasteners. Like lumber, drywall and paint, they stay where they are used. Tools go with you to the next job. (mumble, grumble)

I’ve never even heard of a five-tool player until today.

And he saw every game from the bench.

Sounds like you’re a few nuts and bolts short of a toolbox, Ralph
