Yuck!!!!Phew… I just had to Google “potato bug” to find out that in some places it means a little pillbug.OMG I hope that’s what you mean, Tony!Cos out here in California it’s a nasty, ugly, giant cricket-like thing, the size of a small German shepherd (Ok, OK, 2 or 3 inches long)..with horrible big pincers and a disgusting translucent greenish-tan body.I got bitten by one once…and if anyone ever told me there was one on my face I would emit the biggest and girliest scream you ever heard…..without a shred of embarrassment.

Potato bugs, being very colorful, would indeed spark up anybody’s face.

Calling facial warts “beauty marks” has got to be among the among the greatest accomplishments by a spin doctor in history. A rose may still be a rose by any other name, but only by our susceptibility to the power of labels could a gross-looking deformity somehow become alluring.

Maybe the bug thinks Trout’s nose is a potato.

In California the Mexican folks call the Potato Bug an “Earth Baby”! It’s flesh-colored, huge, and really ugly! Ugh!!!!

Here in California, I awoke one morning to see a Potato Bug about three inches from my face. I didn’t scream, but that was the quickest I ever got out of bed! They are also called Jerusalem Crickets. It happened again a few months later. It is strange that I would see two indoors – my bedroom isn’t THAT messy!
