Also, dialog less stilted than the movie. Disney messes up my childhood favorites yet again. Tarzan, John Carter, Jungle Books. I tremble in fear for Marvel
Disney has ruined just about every story they made a movie of. The worst offender is The Little Mermaid. How many people know how the story really ends?
Not to knock this story line, but since almost nobody is likely to see this movie, could we have a tie-in to the east coast — west coast cartoonists war currently being fought in Pearls Before Swine?
When I was in college, I ran a movie theater as it was only open evenings and weekends. When we had “Aladdin” one Christmas, I thought it would be nice to let the kids from the children’s home where my mother worked see it for free on Christmas day. The local paper ran a story about it and Disney found out. I received a letter saying they were revoking my license to show Disney and it’s affiliated studios films for showing an illegal viewing (not paying them profits). I sent a letter back saying the press would really enjoy hearing about how Disney was going to shut down a movie theater for showing one of their films to a bunch of orphans on Christmas. They withdrew their threat and offered to provide second or third run choices if I chose to do that again.
The Little Mermaid’s sisters make the deal with the Sea Witch (trade their hair) to giver her the option of killing the prince & letting his blood wash over her & make her legs back into a fin. But because she is good & resists, the Spirits of the Air allow her to join them: she can do spiritual good deeds for 300 years, & then she will get a soul. Af6er reading that when I was in single digits, I wanted to kill the prince (Ok, I wanted to kill him the minute he dumped her for that other girl!).

I think more people read this strip than have actually seen the movie

I have not liked Disney since he tried to brake the union back in the thirties. My art instructor in college was a former employee of Disney.
