The last time I talked to my maternal grandparents on the phone was 26 September 2007, Grandpa’s 96th birthday; he died of a stroke a few weeks later. His funeral was the last time I saw his widow; she died the following February (didn’t go to her funeral).
I loved the original FBFW, and the way the characters evolved. I have to say I’m having difficulty falling in love with the current incarnations. It’s still fun, but Elly seems a lot more annoying in this avatar than she did in her previous universe. 仕方がない…
Just wanted to say that this series is just as good the second time around! Back then i often did not have time to relax and read, so some of these are happily recalled while others are new joys for me.
I guess it depends on how well Michael is doing on his own. Sometimes there’s too much silence when my kids are on the phone so I’ll prompt them (or if they forget their manners). But for the things that I want to say, I’ll wait for my turn.
If I were Michael I would have just handed her the phone. My mom used to do this too, and it just sucked the fun out of talking to my grands when I had a script!!
Elly’s just like my Mom was when I tallked to someone on the phone. She’d whisper everything I was suppose to say. It got annoying when I got older and could talk for myself.

Yes, the circle of life… We seem to “become” our parents whether we want to or not.

So you think we’d rather read proof of your bad manners?

On the last frame it appears the phone and Micheal are being pulled into another dimension. (Of space and time, of course. Rod Serling)

I was going to stomp all over TL’s rudeness and complete lack of sensitivity, but I see others have taken care of that most admirably. Well done!

@ИOMЯOM …….TMI_________________________>> I’ll readily admit that I’m out of the loop, and I don’t text on my phone, so I have to ask — what’s TMI?

My mom still does this to me. She is 87 years old!
